MAP Testing
From April 29 to May 16, students in grades K through 8 will complete the third and final MAP® Growth test from NWEA®. We give students MAP Growth tests to determine their instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year (and from year to year) in math, reading, and language in all grade levels. We add MAP science testing in grades 4 through 8. There is no preparation for these assessments besides making sure your child has plenty of rest and a good breakfast throughout the testing period of April 29 to May
16. As in the past, following the testing period, you will receive a report showing your child’s growth throughout this school year.

Spring Band Concert
Greetings! Although our weather may not feel like it, our Spring Band Concert is quickly approaching!
The Spring Instrumental Music Concert is Thursday, May 17, 2018. The concert will take place outside under the entertainment tent as part of the Spring Fling Festival. All band students (4th through 8th grade) will be performing in this concert and will need to arrive at 6:30pm in order to warm up and tune their instruments (the concert begins at 7:00pm). Students will be given a band shirt and should wear it with blue jeans.* If the weather is cooler, a shirt (preferably white) may be worn underneath the band shirt. Shirts must be tucked in. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. DeLine.
*Ladies may wear skirts or capris if desired. Please NO shorts. Shirts have to be tucked in so jeggings may not be comfortable. Students will wear this “uniform” to school for the day concert. The day concert is at 1:00pm and will also be held outside.

Playground/Lunchroom Supervision-Kindergarten
The links to sign up for playground/lunchroom supervision for parents/guardians of students in Kindergarten is now live!
We are asking that each family (mom, dad, grandma, etc.) choose at least two days to volunteer each time slot being 11:00-1:00. We are so grateful for the help!
This is a great way for you to interact with your child and his/her classmates during the school day! Lunch/Recess Volunteers should arrive to school at 11:00 and check in at the office. Duties will include supervising students at recess, escorting students to the cafeteria from recess, and supervising in the cafeteria. Volunteers will be with one teacher and two "core" volunteers each day to help direct. Remember that after your two volunteer time slots, you are done for the year, as each month is assigned to a different grade.
Thank you again for your time and service to the students and teachers of SPB! Simply click on the grade level link to pick a time convenient for you: Kindergarten.

Serve as a Family: The Ministry of Greeters
We’re creating a new ministry at SPB, and it’s an opportunity for whole families to minister together! Greeters will welcome people at the church entrances, hand out Worship Guides, and be a friendly face when guests need direction and guidance. Also a great way to earn service hours. If you’d like to help get this new ministry off the ground, contact Tony at tony@saintpaschal.com.
