School in session on Friday, May 24

Because of the school closure we had in February, all PUSD schools will be in session on Friday, May 24th. No school on Monday, May 27, in recognition of Memorial Day.

Summer Apollo Registration

Are you interested in your elementary-age child participating in our Apollo summer program? Applications are available now through May 31 in the IVES office or by using the link below. Please submit applications to the IVES office.

2019-2020 Apollo Registration

Applications for our Apollo after school program for the 2019-2020 school year will begin June 3. We will continue accepting applications through June 14. Applications will be available June 3 in the IVES office or you may use the link below to print an application.

STATE TESTING CONTINUES THIS WEEK!

Students in grades 3-8, and 11 will continue to participate in state testing during the week of May 20-24. All testing will take place first thing in the morning. Please make sure your child has plenty of rest during these weeks and arrives at school on time with a healthy breakfast. Remember our cafeteria serves all students breakfast from 7:50-8:20 am.

SPORTS UPDATES

Spring Sports Awards Night

The Spring Sports Awards Night will be Tuesday, May 28, at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

GHS SOFTBALL AND BASEBALL PLAYOFFS

Last week, both our softball and baseball teams hosted the first round of playoffs. Thank you to Emma and Nick Hampton who sang our National Anthem.

GIRLS' SOFTBALL

Our Girls' Softball team finished the season 20-7 overall and 6-1 in league which put them in second place for league. They won their first playoff game against Tulelake, but lost in the second round to Fall River. Congratulations to our girls and Coach Heard for an awesome season! Boys' Baseball

Our Boys' Baseball team finished the season 14-3 overall and 6-1 in league which put us as Evergreen League Co-Champions with ACA! This is our first League Championship since 2002! Lost Sierra Composite Mountain Bike Club

Students in Plumas County have the opportunity to join the Lost Sierra Composite Mountain Bike Club. Dana Ludington at QJSHS is the coach. She can be contacted at dludington@pcoe.k12.ca.us. For more information watch the video below!

Staff Feature

This week's staff feature is Mrs. Martha Vaughn. Martha has been an employee of PUSD for 24 years. She has had numerous jobs in a variety of areas over those years, including transportation, Apollo, Opportunity, cafeteria, Title VI, and Special Education. Martha primarily works as a Special Education paraeducator, but she also works with our Native American students through the Title VI program. Martha also supports our Apollo program by serving supper each afternoon. Martha has lived in Greenville 29 years and her children attended Greenville schools. Martha is a an invaluable asset to our students and staff at IVES. We are so grateful for all she does!

The IVES/GJSHS School Site Council meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 3:00 p.m. in the IVES library. The School Site Council is composed of 3 teachers, 1 classified staff member, 4 parents, 1 student, and the principal. All meetings are open to the public.

About Us

Indian Valley Elementary School and Greenville Junior/Senior High School are in beautiful western Plumas County. We serve the students of Indian Valley, which includes the communities of Greenville, Crescent Mills, Taylorsville, and Canyon Dam. We are essentially a K-12 school since we are located on one large campus where we share several facilities.
