Causes and preventions
Causes: A lot of the cases are unknown. Scientists believe it can be genetic or due to poor prenatal care.
Preventions: There is no gaurenteed that it can be prevented but what is now known is that it is good to remain eating healthy throughout the pregnancy and to consider genetic counseling.

Symptoms/detection/treatment
Symptoms: Split in skin near mouth area. Difficulty in speaking, swallowing, and breathing.
Detection: Almost all are found in the ultrasound before birth
Treatment: The way to treat it is surgeries preformed on the child to reconstruct the lip area.
