Edgar Allens life.
Edgar Allen Poe was born on January 19th, 1809. Edgar did not have a very strong family, his dad left him at a very early age and his mother dies before he was the age of three. He was an orphan as a kid. Poe went to college but then he got into debt so he started to gamble to try and get out of debt but he just got more in debt. So then he had to leave the college and joined the United States army. Poe's creativeness in writing lead to the many different genres of books that we have today. The poem he wrote named "The Raven" was one of his most famous writings, that is very well known today. He married his cousin when she was 13 her name was Virginia. And after she died Poe faced many mental health issues, and became ill. He died of brain congestion a few years later, some people believe alcohol was part of the reason he died. He died on October 7th 1849.
