THORNTON JUNIOR HIGH
MARCH/APRIL NEWSLETTER
Principal's Message
I hope this email finds you warm and dry. The rainy, windy weather mixed with 1,300 enthusiastic teenagers has made for an exciting few weeks! The students continue to do a great job navigating the adjustments necessary to manage the weather and the campus changes as a result of construction. Speaking of construction, progress continues on the modernized buildings as well as the new administration/library building at the front of the school. The District's Public Information Officer will continue to share out construction updates on a regular basis. The updates can also be found under the "Thornton Updates" section of our website.
As we enter into spring, there are a lot of activities that will be coming up over the next few months. Highlights of these events include, registration for the next grade level and 8th grade activities. More information regarding these two highlights and many others can be found within this newsletter. We are also offering Parent/Teacher conferences for students who are currently struggling in their classes. A separate newsletter/notification regarding conferences will be sent out next week.
I think it's important to take a minute to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the Thornton teaching and support staff. They continue to do their best to serve the students and the community while managing the challenges brought on by being a school under construction. They have continued to adapt as needed to provide the best possible learning environment for our students. We all look forward to the next few months with your children and all the excitement that has to offer!
Happy Spring!
Ms. Strausbaugh, Principal
