Lumberton School District Preschool Expansion Grant
The Lumberton Township School District is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a Preschool Expansion Grant from the New Jersey Department of Education. This award will allow the district to provide FREE, high quality preschool to a number of our three- and four- year-old students starting on February 1, 2021. The district will be partnering with the Center for Family Services to provide free, high quality preschool to 42 Head Start eligible Lumberton children.
Families must meet the criteria as outlined by Head Start, though some exceptions may be made for families moderately over these amounts. These income guidelines can be waived for families with special circumstances who might benefit from placement in Head Start.
What if I am not comfortable sending my child to school at this time?
There are several service delivery options available, including a fully remote option.
What do I do if I am interested in enrolling my child in the program?

January's Staff Shout Out:
Mrs. Gizelbach is doing an amazing job! This is my second experience with a child in her class. She is always interactive, vibrant, fun, and task driven with her kindergartners. She keeps them focused and is always patient. Mrs. Gizelbach does an awesome job in person and virtually. She has been able to shift to virtual learning without diminishing the content learned in the classroom. Mrs. Gizelbach always makes me and my family feel welcomed. She even inquires about my older 17 year old who wasn’t even her student. She is appreciated greatly by my family for her genuine spirit and commitment to education.

Principal's Reading Recommenda-tion
I found "Drawn Together" by Minh Le last year and it quickly became one of my favorites. This is a story about family and the power art has in connecting people. There are no words in most of this book which makes it a great one for children who are learning to use pictures to understand a story. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-syvLeI8Yk0
