Thank you to all of our student athletes that represented themselves and Carleton with great sportsmanship, competitiveness, drive, and determination. Also, thank you to Coach Ciak, Lenz, Heitkamp, and Scheele for inspiring our young people to push themselves in rain, heat, pain, and fatigue to build character for future obstacles. Also, the time and energy needed to plan practices, attend meets, coordinate rides, and spend less time with their own family is remarkable.
Great season everyone!

A few summer time reminders...
As we move towards the end of the year I hope you will join me in giving our learners three gentle reminders that will help us have a successful and enjoyable end of the school year.
1. Finish what you started. Our kids have worked hard to have success and do well both behaviorally and academically. Work to make sure the warm weather and temptations of friends do not allow a drop off in all they have accomplished.
2. The expectations don’t change with the weather. The need to come to school, be on time, participate in their learning, follow school rules (including dress code), and work hard continue as we enter the final phase of the year.
3. Error on the side of kindness. We have good kids who genuinely like each other but this gets put to the test when they joke around and “roast” each other. Let’s all encourage our learners to error on the side of kindness and avoid some of these behaviors.
World Cup
The Spanish students in Ms. Lutz's classroom competed in a World Cup tournament earlier this week where they learned about the emphasis of soccer (and other sports), community sporting events, and cultural heritages of Spanish speaking (and other) countries. Students were able to design flags of their chosen country, learn about cultures unfamiliar to them, and exercise outside as part of their normal Spanish class.
Team USA won the soccer tournament as part of the World Cup bracket and students were able to dive deeper into the various cultures and country history as part of this fun, end of year, activity.
