Northwest Early Elementary

October 2022

Halloween News

NWEE will be offering fall themed activities in each of our classrooms for students during the last week of October. (Please inquire with individual teachers for specifics) However, in order to maintain a safe environment for everyone, we will not be having a costume parade. We encourage all students and families to attend the NW Trunk or Treat scheduled for October 29, 2022 from 1-2:30 pm to show off their costumes.

If you wish to donate a treat for the Fall celebration, please arrange that ahead of time with your student's teacher.

We appreciate everyone’s support in keeping our students, staff and community healthy!

Dear Mountie Nation,

Northwest Early Elementary is off to a great start in the 2022-2023 school year. Our staff has been very intentional about building positive relationships with our students and our Northwest families. As these relationships become stronger, trust is built and students are able to reach their potential academically.

Fall is here and the weather is changing! Please dress your students in layers, so they are warm in the morning, but can also take a sweatshirt off to enjoy the pleasant afternoon weather that we are all hoping for.

I greatly appreciate your continued support and look forward to the 2022-2023 school year!

MORNING TARDINESS

We encourage promptness since tardies affect everyone and disrupt classroom time. One of the most valuable life skills a student can learn from his/her parent/guardian is the responsibility of arriving at school every day on time. Morning is the time when important school news is announced, teachers define the plans for the day, and instructional goals are reviewed and set. The whole tone of a child’s school day is set in the first part of the day.

  • School starts at 8:25 a.m.

  • If your student is not participating in their classroom morning routine by 8:35 a.m. they will be considered tardy.

  • Students not in their classroom seat by 8:35 a.m. shall be considered tardy.

  • If the supervisory aides are not present when you drop off your student, they are tardy. Please make sure to come into the office and sign them in.

  • Doctor appointments/professional appointments are excused with a doctor's note.

  • Signing your child out of school prior to 3:10 p.m. is considered a half day absence.

  • Signing your child out between 3:10 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. has the same negative effect on your child's attendance as a morning tardy.

Please help support your child in learning habits that will help them be successful at school and throughout life. If you need help or have concerns getting your child to school on time please contact the office. We are here to help.
