The mission of Darby Middle School is to empower all students to grow and learn with a mindset of a Ranger.
Our vision is to “Lead the Way” in student academic growth, attendance, physical/social emotional well being, extra-curricular activities, career preparation, and community involvement in order to prepare students for future success.
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Hello Darby Families!
It was so good to see our students back on campus after the Thanksgiving Break! It was a quick turnaround but we have officially started the countdown to the next extended break. We have two more weeks of learning until the end of the first semester. Students who need to turn in missing work or retake any assessments for an improved grade can do so at this time. Please check your student's grades on Schoology and encourage them to finish strong!
Students and staff are participating in the 12 Days of Holiday Cheer these next two weeks. Students who participate in the dress up days are entered each day into a raffle to win prizes. Check out our Facebook page for fun pictures of each day!
Just a reminder to 8th grade parents that your students will be working with our school counselors December 8th and 9th to select their courses for their 9th grade year at Northside. A course catalog and course selection sheet was sent home this past week.
Winter break will begin December 20th and classes will not resume again until Tuesday, January 4th.

Expose your teen to positive peer pressure
Peer influence isn't always a negative force. You can help your teen experience positive peer pressure, too. Encourage activities and interests that will let him meet others who are likely to be positive role models. To start, help him find school-based extracurricular activities that match his interests. Community service clubs and youth groups are other good options.
