High School Conversation

Please join me from the comfort of your personal computer to hear the unfolding ideas about a possible Oak Farm High School. Following a 30 minute remote presentation, I will seek your feedback on whether you feel the program is appealing and would make a positive addition to Oak Farm’s offerings. You will also have an opportunity to share your suggestions, concerns, and further questions.

All of this will be discussed at Oak Farm’s June board meeting, when a decision will be made about whether or not we should add a high school.

Please – let your voice be heard and be part of shaping the future of our school!

Monday, May 16th, 7- 7:30 p.m.

Friday, May 20th, 12-12:30 p.m.

To join the remote presentation, RSVP to Macy for the meeting of your choice, and directions will be emailed to you of how to log in (please note that internet & phone connection are needed for this presentation.)

Thank you for joining me in dreaming big for our school!

Megan O'Sullivan, Head of School

Oak Farm Connects - Wednesday, May 18

What could be more fun than roller skating at the Auburn Skatin' Station?! I know... roller skating with your friends from school!

Join the fun on Wedenday - doors will open at 5:00. $4 per person for admission (which includes skate rental.) You can get dinner there if you choose and then grab dessert at Bowls in Auburn - a portion of the day's sales will come back to Oak Farm! Bowls is located at 1051 Smaltz Way - near the Auburn Cineima.

This is a school organized event, however ALL CHILDREN need to have an adult present during this event! The school is not responsible for their care during this event!

Library Books Are Due Soon!

Please check your house for any Oak Farm library books - if found, please return them to the school ASAP. Alex will be sending home overdue slips soon to help you find any specific titles that may be on your child's record.

A big appreciative thank you

...to Chef Jill and members of the Zollman, Zacharias, and Canino families for donating their time to be of service to others on Tuesday at Warm-a-Heart food pantry in Waterloo. Some wonderful connections and moments were shared while packing groceries and serving a meal to those in need. The next chance for Oak Farm families to participate in this community event will be on

Thursday, September 22 from 5:00-7:30

. We need 5-6 additional volunteers. We hope you will be one of them.

Those who are interested but cannot make it that evening are encouraged to contact Diane at 260.908.0437 to find a Tuesday or Thursday that works with your schedule. Also, as the summer harvests come in, if you find yourself with an abundance of fruits, veggies, or eggs please keep them in mind. The fresh produce is greatly appreciated by those who visit their food pantry.

Please email Janet Canino with any questions at jcanino@oakfarmschool.com

Swimmers, Wigglers and Things that Go Hop

There's no need to let Sandy and the Primary students have all the pond and puddle-pondering fun. Spend tomorrow morning outside at the Eagle Marsh barn. Join others to dip water out of the ponds looking for and identifying the larval stages of insects, crayfish, and frog tadpoles. Then try to find juvenile frogs or toads hopping about during the hike. Fun for all ages. Boots recommended. Saturday, May 14, from 9:00am to 10:30am http://www.lrwp.org/events/#2ef6cf8f17ff050b3c0d07b209cad236
