What was your favorite subject in school?

Why did you choose education as a career choice?

To make a difference in the lives of students as my teachers did.

What does success look like in your classroom?

Engaged learners and students feeling safe, supported, and cared for.

What is your favorite or funniest "teaching moment?"

My classroom rule was cell phones being put away and the ringer off. A phone went off and I chastised the class about my classroom rule. A student promptly piped up and said “Uh, I think that’s your phone”. And it was.

What is your favorite thing about Breckenridge ISD?

We’re a cohesive educator community.

What advice do you have for students?

Keep your cell phones out of sight and turned off. Your teachers can’t compete with them, and at the end of the year, you should have knowledge of your classroom content and objectives; not a degree in Snapchat.

What advice do you have for parents?

Support our teachers; we are in this together and we want what you want for your children- to learn. We cannot accomplish that if our hands are tied with disciplinary issues.
