BJH CHOIR PERFORMANCES

BJH Varsity Choirs performed in a Bell cluster pyramid concert on Tuesday! Students sang with future raiders from Hurst JH and Central JH to a packed auditorium. Three Bedford Students had solos: Jayden Creecy, Samir Oumar, and Davion Robinson.

BJH choir held the 7th and 8th Grade solo contest on Friday. 43 students participated. 40 students received a superior rating (1) and 3 received an excellent rating (2). 9 Students received a distinction of “Outstanding Performer”: Quincey Byrd, Justin Epp, Zachary Harsha, Katelyn Knapp, Kenyon Loeffler, Emerson Sharp, Maddox Weddle, Frenson Wichep, and Inara Young.

8th grade science gathers data to calculate their group members speed. They then used their calculations to create a graph representing how fast they ran, hopped and walked backwards.

NJHS IS PARTNERING WITH HEB PTA CLOTHES CLOSET TO FILL THE SHELVES

Families - the drawers are empty and the need is great! Please use the QR code to scan and shop with ease! Please make sure you use the gift receipt option and put in your child's name, grade and second period teacher. The homeroom with the most items donated for each grade level will win pizza for lunch provided by BJH PTA. Any questions - email susannahkeneda@hebisd.edu. Your donations stay local and support the HEB area. NJHS students can earn 30 minutes per 5 items donated. Have your student fill out the google form in Remind.

October 2 was national custodian appreciation day. BJH has the best custodial crew! BJH STUCO students and BJH staff showed their appreciation for Mr. Solomon this week at the Pink Out Pep Rally. BJH art students Jay Lee and Jason Ndala created and presented Mr. Solomon with a hand drawn portrait to honor him. Thank you, Mr. Solomon!

Mrs. Lowe would like to recognize Jackson Kimmons for doing the right thing. Jackson and another student found a phone at lunch and turned it in! Thanks for being an honest Bronco!

BRENDAN GORDON

Mrs. Rivers would like to recognize Brendan Gordon for his willingness to help others. Super proud of Brendan! Earlier this week, Brendan stayed after class to help clean up trash/pencils left from his classmates. He also helped me replenish my classroom stash of notebook paper when I was running low!

DANIKA LAMBERT

Mrs. Rivers would like to recognize Danika Lambert for her willingness to help others. Danika stayed after class to help me pick up some pencils and trash that was left on my floor from her classmates. I am so appreciative of her help!

HARMONY TRESSLER

Mr. Martinak would like to recognize Harmony Tressler for showing great school spirit and helping others. . Harmony and another student were picking up trash in the front of the school. Thank you for taking pride in your school and helping out!

MURAE HORN

Coach Schulz would like to recognize MuRae Horn for her willingness to help others. MuRae was the last one in the gym after her 8th grade team left for their away game, picking up trash that was left behind, so the gym was ready for our 7th grade game. Thanks, MuRae, for being a great teammate and representation of BJH athletics!

DIEGO BAEZ

Coach Holder would like to recognize Diego Baez for his willingness to help others. Diego stayed after class to help clean up the room. Thank you for your help!!

FIRST SIX WEEKS A HONOR ROLL

Congratulations to the students listed for earning straight A's for the first six weeks grading period. These students have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence by maintaining an average of 90 or above in all of their classes.

YEARBOOK ORDER INFORMATION

Welcome to a new school year and a new yearbook to celebrate all of the achievements for the new school year! October 1, the price of yearbooks increased to $50. Tribute Ads for ninth graders are $50 for 1/4 of a page and $30 for 1/8 of a page. These sales will close on January 28, 2023. Once your ad space has been purchased, a link will arrive in your email from Balfour. Sometimes these links end up in your spam folder, so please look there if you have not received your link within 48 hours. The ad program allows families to edit and save their design before their final submission. Any questions, email Susannah Keneda at susannahkeneda@hebisd.edu.

FRESHMAN FOOTBALL

Our Freshman football team played Boswell Thursday night at L D Bell.


The BJH Freshman A team was led by tough QB plays by Caleb Walton and touchdown runs by Landon Wesley, and Jacob Preskins. Good defensive play was provided by Colton Case. The Broncos came up short of their goal of defeating Boswell but they look to bounce back next week as they take on Brock.


The Freshman B team took on Boswell also and they were led by strong offensive plays. They fought hard to the last second.

8TH GRADE FOOTBALL

Tuesday night the 8th grade Broncos played Euless at home. A team played first against a tough Stallion Squad. Out the gate your Broncos started slow but began to figure it out towards the end of the 1st quarter, forcing a safety for a Bronco Score. Although the Broncos played tough they fell short.


B team played next and came out slow. Although the stallions had a strong game, the Broncos ended the game on a high note, with a touchdown pass from Luke Pryor to Carlos "Money" Moore.


Come out and support your Broncos next week against cross town rival Harwood.

7TH GRADE FOOTBALL

Wednesday night the 7th grade football team played Euless. B team started off strong with a long touch down run by Ahmaud Alsary. In the end the stallions pulled away with the victory. Players of the game were Cam Holsinger, Ashton Scott, and Ahmaud Alsary.


A team played next against a tough Euless team. Throughout the 1st half, the Broncos had good drives downfield but couldn't get to the endzone. The players of the game were Anthony Price and Issac Barrientos.


Next week the Broncos play cross-town rivals, Harwood. Come out and support.

FRESHMAN VOLLEYBALL

8TH GRADE VOLLEYBALL

Congratulations to the 8th grade volleyball teams for defeating Euless with dominating team efforts.

Team 2 came out serving, leading the service attack was Serenity Williams, Lana Davis, Truly Talylor-Maroney and Isabella Darce. The defense was led by Brooklyn Williams and Jazz Williams. The Lady Broncos won in two sets 25-12, 25-12.


Team 1 was ready to play as well. Talia Soliai-Tui was dominant from the service line scoring 18 points off her serve in two sets. Reagan Ingram and Kenslee Turner also put Euless under service pressure all match. The defense was led by Hailee Blocker-Smith, Christa Lopez, Talia Soliai-Tui, and Reagan Ingram. Jenna Fuchs and MuRae Horn had solid performances and Sara Thapa-Magar and Natalie Roach led the way as setters with multiple assists.

VISITOR PROCEDURES

In the interest of keeping our campus safe, procedures have been put in place for visitors to the campus. Please use the link below to view the procedures for visiting our campus.

TO ALL HEB ISD PARENTS AND FAMILIES

HEB ISD issues electronic devices to all students. If a device issued to a student is damaged or lost, the student's parent or guardian may be responsible for replacement or repair costs, in accordance with the HEB ISD Technology Student/Parent Device Agreement.


HEB ISD provides an opportunity for parents to purchase voluntary student device insurance through School Device Coverage. Participation in this insurance program is strictly voluntary. For more information, use the website link below or download the device insurance PDF below.


It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to return the completed enrollment form and premium payment directly to the insurance company. Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD will not collect forms or payments for this coverage.


Should you have any questions regarding the voluntary student device insurance, please contact School Device Coverage at 1-888-978-3515.

EXAM EXEMPTION POLICY

HEB ISD recently published information on Exam Exemptions for Junior High and High school students. Please reference the document link below for criteria to earn an Exam Exemption.


More recently an additional clarification was provided in regard to absences: Covid absences will not count towards the exam exemption attendance requirement so long as the student completes the proper reporting process by completing the online form.

  • School Begins at 8:20 am
  • School Ends at 3:35 pm
