Rounding out the 1st Nine Weeks
It's hard to believe that we are almost a quarter done with our 4th grade year-the nine weeks ends Friday!
Last week, we settled into our revised schedule. Our day is running smoothly and students are building stamina. Since we are only on campus two days this week, we encourage any and all grade corrections to be turned in by Tuesday.
This will be a full and fun week for sure!
Fall Creek Falls--It's finally here!
More information will come home on Tuesday afternoon. This will include groupings and any last minute changes. Please refer to the FCF Essentials page for a complete packing list. We are so excited our time out in nature is finally upon us!
From Our Room Moms
Good Sunday Morning Parents!!
The 4th grade teachers have asked us to be in charge of the second evening's activities at Fall Creek Falls. Below you will find a SignUp Genius link for S'Mores as well as bottled water to have throughout the trip.
If you would like to send any of these items in to school on Monday or Tuesday I will be glad to collect them, pack them and get them transported to FCF. Any bags not going in cars will be under the bus and could melt (chocolate bars), so put those in your car or send in ahead please.
On the sign up you will also see a slot for our campfire parent. We need one person to be in charge of starting, maintaining and extinguishing the campfire. Also, this person may want to bring some firewood with them. It would be great to know that we already have plenty of good sized firewood on hand as well as anything needed to start and extinguish the fire.
This time will be free time for the kids. I suggest bringing items to entertain them such as a soccer ball, hula hoop, corn hole game (if you have an easily transportable one) etc. Packing a board game or card game would also be a good idea. While we may not end up having time to play them, you never know when the weather could turn or the agenda change, so it doesn't hurt to have them on hand.
This trip is very structured, so this is a time for them to play and hang out with their friends.
Bring chairs!! You will want a place to sit and as the evening gets darker more of the kids will sit around as well.
Bottled water - we will have a couple of coolers on hand that we can continue to refill with bottles of water throughout the trip for everyone to have. If you sign up to send/bring water it does not have to already be iced down. We will take care of that.

Please let me know if there is something I have left out of this sign up.
Thank you,

4th Grade Corrected Work Policy
As a fourth grade team, we will implement our corrected work grading policy:
If your student is not satisfied with the score they received on a graded assignment, he/she may correct the missed problems to receive a corrected score.
Graded papers are typically sent home on Thursday of each week. Your student has until the next Wednesday to complete the corrections for more credit. The corrections should be done on a separate piece of paper and should be labeled accordingly so there is no guess work for the teacher.
Once the corrected work is returned, teachers have a week to enter the corrected grade online in iNOW. We recognize how important it is to have this opportunity and we encourage all students to take part in this policy.
