Information from Mrs. Grosch
Hello MJ Families,
I have to report all MJ teachers and staff members are walking with a bit of pep in their steps since the return of many of our in person students. Fifth and Sixth grade will be joining us after Columbus Day, bringing us to the long anticipated status of having students in all grade levels in school.
If you are dropping off or picking up your student, you have certainly noticed it is taking us longer to get through both of these procedures. We appreciate your patience as we adapt to the new protocols and ensure we are doing our due diligence on both ends of the school day. Many staff members are working on accuracy of the routines. We will be working toward efficiency and you can help!
Arrival
- We begin our arrival routine at 8:20am
- Circle around from Clyde to Wilson to get into the lot
- Do not block the driveway of the tech building
- Pull forward as far as possible when arriving at Door #1
- Have your student (s) on the passenger side of the backseat
- Shoes and coats should be on in the car
- Breakfast should be eaten at home
- Certification cards should already be signed
Dismissal
- We begin our dismissal routine at 3:15pm
- Display your car sign where it can be easily seen by staff - dashboard or back side of your visor is preferred
- Pull forward as far as possible when arriving at Door #1
- Do not block the driveway of the tech building
- Turn left as you exit the parking lot
We are entering the time of year when the days get shorter; the temperatures cooler. There are things that seem a bit "off", such as my son's baseball games; baseball is supposed to be a spring sport. There are also a lot of things that seem just right, including the way our school community has come together at a time when we continue to be separated. We are essentially running two schools - the in person version, and it's counterpart, the virtual classrooms. It never ceases to amaze me how resilient kids are and how quickly they adapt to their environment. I have recently had conversations with parents of students in both learning environments and it struck me how similar the conversations were although one student is in a virtual class, the other returned in person. Both students are thriving academically, making new friends, and "absolutely loves" his/her teacher. Both families confirmed they had made a great decision for their student and were happy with the outcome. It has me realizing that we are having more similar than different experiences and that brings a smile to my face.
Fondly,
Jenny Grosch

From the Health Office
For the purpose of safeguarding the health of children, District 15 enforces Illinois student health requirements. These requirements consist of health, dental, and eye exams and immunizations specific to grade and age (https://www.ccsd15.net/HealthExams).
Please be sure to submit all required health forms to me via email or by dropping off a hard copy. Health exams are required for students entering kindergarten and sixth grade, as well as for those who are new to the school.
****Note: all health requirements are due by October 15, 2020****
If you have updated health forms to be emailed, please scan and email a copy to thomass2@ccsd15.net.
