Our Leaders 4 Life created a positive note for EVERY Sequiota Indian.
When the students arrive on Monday, they will each find a positive message on their desk!
In negative times, it's important to lift each other up! Our students will model that next week!
Every student received a yellow EXPLORE form in folders this week. Please complete the form and return it to school so your child can receive a prize!

Procedural Reminders:
- The earliest time you can drop off your students is 8:20 a.m. If you need to drop your child off earlier, please call Prime Time to set up before school care. Contract time for teachers is 8:20 a.m., so there are no staff to supervise students prior to 8:20 a.m. Thank you for helping us keep your children safe in the morning.
- School ends at 3:35 p.m. Car line is generally over by 3:50 p.m. This week we have had several children still at school after 4:00 p.m. Please make sure your children are picked up by 3:50 p.m., or attending Prime Time after school.
- If you are calling to give a message to your child regarding pick-up, please make sure you call prior to 3:00 p.m. We have had several calls recently as late as 3:25 p.m. It is difficult to get a message to your child after 3:00 p.m., so please call prior to 3 so we can make sure your child goes home in the correct manner.
- Please do not leave small children in vehicles unattended at dismissal. If a child is sleeping, car line may be a better option. We appreciate all families working together to keep all students safe.

Congratulations Jessica Ridder & Laura Snelson-Power of 1!
It is has been said that one smile can start a friendship and one nod can give a child confidence. Sometimes it is the smallest of acts that can ripple and spread and have a bigger impact than you ever imagined. The friendships formed by teachers who team up to share their knowledge by specializing learning for their classes to bring out the best in kids is happening here at Sequiota. These two work together to make a bigger impact on all their students. It is with open hearts, smiles, and love that our students are blessed in first grade from Jessica Ridder and Laura Snelson’s team teaching approach. Bravo for being selfless enough to teach with an open heart and focusing on what we all want –a better, more effective way to bring learning to our students. Trust, knowledge, love, and the effort to build each other up and make our tribe the best is why Kathy Roman and Traci Zay give you two the power of one. One tribe, one team, one child at a time.
Thank you Kathy & Traci for a beautiful tribute to your colleagues!
Our Club Encore Pay it Forward Group is collecting donations for Police Officers: 3rd-5th Grade!
Mrs. Mullins Second Grade Student Invention Convention! Raising money for Isabel's House-Grades K-2!
Mrs. Mullins’ second graders have been hard at work creating new inventions to showcase for the students of Sequiota! During the event, students will have the opportunity to walk around and talk to each inventor. The inventors will have a jar to collect coins, and the inventor with the most money in their jar at the end of the event will be the winner of the Invention Convention! All proceeds from the Invention Convention will be donated to Isabel’s House, a local organization dedicated to helping children. The Invention Convention will be held on Wednesday, March 7th, from 1-2pm in the Sequiota Library. Be sure to send your spare change with your child on that day so they can vote for their favorite invention! Thank you for supporting our students!
EXPLORE ENROLLMENT STILL OPEN!!
There will be two sessions of Explore. Session I could start as early as June 4. Session II will be held July 5-July 31.
Free transportation will be offered for eligible students and free breakfast and lunch will be served daily at every school.

Sequiota Elementary
Sequiota is a hidden treasure on the southeast side of Springfield! Over the last 50 years, Sequiota has changed in appearance but the values remain the same. We recently gathered to celebrate 50 years of education, success, community and family! Sequiota is a school where students come first and are at the heart of every decision made. Sequiota is home to some of the BEST families in Springfield! Sequiota would not have the ability to do all that it does without the support of our PTA. The Sequiota PTA truly has the students best interest at heart and serves as a huge foundation of Sequiota Elementary School. If you are looking for a school with a small community feel, you have come to the right place. At Sequiota, we are not just a school, we are a family that supports one another and collaborates to provide the BEST education possible for our students.
