Check Out All The Fun From Our Week at Kipling
We are happy to share some great news from this week. Kipling Elementary has won two new awards. Today Mr. McConnell was happy to accept an award of excellence from the Illinois Chapter National School Public Relations (INSPRA), for our school video was produced last year.
In addition, we also received a call from the Illinois Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ILASCD) late yesterday afternoon that Kipling Elementary is one of a select few schools in the state that have been recognized as a Whole Child Initiative School. More information on this soon. Kipling staff will be on hand to accept the award at the ASCD annual conference in late October.
I also want to say a special thank you to all of our PTO volunteers that have been working so hard to get our composting/recycling program off the ground. Our students have come a long way in a short time in learning what goes where in the lunchroom thanks to their hard work.

Receiving Text Messages (3rd Posting)
You must opt in to receive text messages from the school or District 109. We do not send these messages often, but use this method of communication when it is important (for emergency situations such as weather-related school closings or bus delays, for example).
You opt in by adding your cell phone number and notifications preferences through the Skylert tab of the left navigation bar in Family Access.
Then, scroll down and enter your cell phone number(s) under Text Message Numbers. We recommend you check all boxes to ensure you receive important notifications. Even if you have a cell phone number entered elsewhere in Family Access, you must enter it here, in the Skylert area, to receive text notifications.
