- there are over 30 types of plasma proteins
One of the functions of blood is to bring nutrients, that cells in the body need, to those cells. The plasma carries the nutrients that the body needs. People are paid to donate plasma because one it takes a longer amount of time to donate because they remove the plasma from the blood and then put the blood back into your body. Also because it is needed to replenish proteins in other individuals bodes.
