HILL HAPPENINGS
Hill Elementary School ~ May 4, 2015
It was a beautiful weekend. Both of my kids are home from college for the summer. I can't believe how fast it went by. Ron starts a new job tomorrow and is still taking classes 3 evenings a week. Koda and Cooper are thrilled to have the kids home too. I think I lost my snuggling buddies!! I am so excited to have everyone under the same roof for the next few months! :)
At Hill, we are nearing the middle of the last marking period and are full speed ahead! We have the first week of M-STEP behind us and were pleasantly surprised at how smoothly the testing went, technologically speaking! Special thanks to Eric Chorley, Chris Lesko, and the tech department!
Our fourth grade Blueberry Ambassadors have received over 2300 votes and are currently leading the polls for the MLive Reader's Choice Award and a $1000.00 prize. The polls continue to be open through Friday at noon. I appreciate everyone's support! Vote! Vote! Vote!
Tuesday is election day. Our school district has two very important items on the ballot. The first and second grade students also have a concert that evening! Students have been working very hard with Mrs. DuPrey and Mr. Jones. I can't wait to see their performance!!
Please make sure that you have filled out a prearranged absence form for DRA testing. I'd like for all teaching staff to schedule end of the year goal meetings for the week of June 8th with Ranee. (20-30 minutes) At this meeting we will go over progress toward your goals. You will need to bring artifacts/evidence to support meeting your goal. You are also welcome to share evidence to support your goal(s) with me in a Google Doc. As always, let me know if you have any questions.
This week has been designated as Staff Appreciation Week, and Tuesday is National Teacher Appreciation Day. Our PTO has decorated the lounge and have some special things planned throughout the week. I feel blessed to work with such a devoted group of people and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do to put students first! Hill is a very special place!
Have a wonderful week!
