Dear JHS Families,

We encourage all of our parents and students to get involved in any way possible. We have many clubs, athletic teams, programs, and opportunities for students to get involved on campus. We also have a ton of opportunities for parents to be involved as well. Please click here to learn more about our wonderful PTSA. In addition, we also have a booster club which is looking for parent volunteers to support our athletic teams.

The first day of school is August 9th. This will be a minimum day with school starting at 8:30am and dismissing at 1:00pm. Please check out the schedules below for more information.

I am very excited to join the Jefferson High School family and can't wait for the school year to begin. Please feel free to stop by and introduce yourself. I am excited to meet all of our students and families.

Daly City Mural

Jefferson High School PTSA President Victoria Magbilang had a vision to boost the arts scene in Daly City. With the support of Dragonfly Community Arts, a foundation that offers free arts education in San Mateo County, Jefferson High School GrizzArts program, advised by teacher Suzanne Koehnlein, helped bring this idea to life.

In turn, Dragonfly Community Arts hired Bay Area Mural Program (BAMP), a nonprofit organization of mural artists dedicated to creating inspiring public art, to work with our JHS students. BAMP led several workshops with GrizzArts to collaboratively design a mural to pay homage to our city.

After approaching several potential mural sites, the team got an agreement from Daly City Mitsubishi and the owner of its building to host the amazing artwork, and execution of the “Greetings from Daly City” mural began in early June, with students assisting BAMP artists with the painting.

Thank you to everyone who worked together to create a new landmark in Daly City.

Here is a quick video of the project.

It looks amazing! Go Grizzlies!!!

Free Breakfast & Lunch for ALL Students

Jefferson High School will continue to offer Free Breakfast and Lunch to all of our students this year. However, we would still like to have families complete an application for Free and Reduced meals. The more students that we have qualify for free and reduced meals the more supports we will receive for our students.

COVID Updates

Student Safety during COVID:

This has been an extraordinary few years, with many challenges that we have worked through together. While we have all seen improvements with COVID 19 treatments and vaccines, we still need to be committed to the ongoing safety of students and staff at Jefferson High School. As such, we will continue to follow guidelines issued by the State and San Mateo County.

Masking is still being recommended at this time.

Students will receive two free COVID Rapid test kit when they come to school for their Orientation and ID Pictures. Students are expected to take the COVID test on Monday prior to attending the first day of school. We are also asking students take a second free COVID Rapid Test on Thursday. Please notify Jefferson HS attendance office at (650) 550-7700 if your student tests positive on either day.
