Health Related News

*As a reminder, if your child will be staying home due to a sickness or doctor's appointment, please call Alice in the elementary office at 319-392-4221.

*All inquiries concerning Covid-19 and your child's symptoms or health should be directed to Nurse Enger at or 319-392-4221.

*In addition, if you are contacting your child's classroom teacher regarding an illness or absence, please include Alice McLeland ( and Emily Enger ( in your email.

*At this time, Danville CSD is requiring isolation for household members of a confirmed, positive Covid case. Your student's return date is determined by the onset of symptoms and/or the date of testing.

*Please be reminded, your child must be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to school.

*If your child has vomiting, diarrhea, fever, or a persistent cough, they should not attend school.

*In order to help maintain your child's health, please see that they get a good night's rest, plenty of water, follow good handwashing practices, and that they stay at home when they are ill.

General School Updates

*If your child is absent for an extended period of time, homework pick up days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please let Alice know if you would like to pick up homework for your child.

*School Picture Day is coming soon! Envelopes should be arriving home with your child this week.

*Please be reminded that students are not allowed to bring toys or fidget items to school, unless written into a student's Individual Education Plan or 504 Plan.

*The Student Handbook has been updated for the 2021 - 2022 school year. You can find the handbook here:

*Danville Homecoming Week is coming! Watch for our elementary dress-up days soon! We would love for your child to participate in the fun.

*Due to increasing Covid-19 cases throughout the district and state, we are limiting visitors and volunteers in the building at this time

*Early Out Wednesdays begin this week!

Good News Club

The Good News Club will once again be hosting their after-school program at the church this year. The group is currently trying to find the best day of the week to meet the needs of parents and have a great turn out. They would like parent input concerning their meeting day. They are looking at Tuesdays after school or Wednesdays during the planned early outs.

Farm Safety Day

The Danville FFA Chapter will be hosting a Farm Safety Day for our elementary students. The student group is currently coordinating and setting up an informational day for our classes to learn about the importance of farm safety during harvest time. FFA Farm Safety Day is currently planned for Friday, September 24th. We will be sure to share pictures from this great day!
