Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr
Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. virtually during the 18th Annual Southern Maryland Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Celebration, with the theme The Urgency of Creating the Beloved Community, on Monday, January 17th at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.The virtual program will begin at 8 a.m., featuring a keynote address by Dr. Mary Frances Berry, an activist in the cause of civil rights, gender equality and social justice.Following the program the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Nu Zeta Omega Chapter will host a Day of Service, accepting donations of non-perishable foods, new or gently worn shoes, and eyeglasses. This is for Band students only to receive extra help on their instrument, reading music and techniques unique to their instrument family from experts in the field! Families should email Ms. Czechanski to make her aware if their student is planning to stay after for any of the dates listed above. They will report to the Band room at dismissal and check out will be at the outside Band room door. Thank you
Leonardtown Middle School's Cell Phone Policy
According to St. Mary's County Public Schools' policy, students may have electronics (cell phones, I-Pods, laptops, PSP’s, etc.) in school although they must be turned off during instructional time, as well as during lunch and recess, unless given permission by a teacher for a specific educational purpose.
A phone, specifically for student use, is located in the main office at no charge to the student if an occasion arises that a student needs to contact a parent or guardian.
If electronic devices are brought to school, the school is NOT responsible for investigating their loss and return.

Parents can utilize online services to purchase yearbooks by visiting: https://ybpay.lifetouch.com and using Access code 14566722. Please contact Mrs. Engel at aaengel@smcps.org for information regarding yearbooks.
