Washington students and staff had an exciting week reading and discussing The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. Our third annual All-School Read is off to a successful start thanks to the support of our Washington families. Thank you to all! The trivia contest began this week. Congratulations to our winners!
Remember to turn in your trivia slips each Friday to be included in the drawings.

EFW RUN AND WALK IS SATURDAY, MAY 2
The EFW Rush for Education is scheduled for Saturday, May 2 at Hart Park. The deadline for early bird registration has been extended until March 20, 2020. Until then, pricing will remain at $12 for the one mile events (walk and fun run) and $25 for the competitive 5K.

Family Folk Dance Night for SK-2nd grade families
Join us for an evening of community through folk dance. All family members are welcome.

PTA Updates...
Please join us at our next PTA meeting on Tuesday, 3/10, 6-7 p.m. Park and Recreation will send a guest speaker to our meeting to discuss summer programming. We will "read the minutes" after the meeting at a local watering hole. See you Tuesday.
Washington's GREEN TEAM is still looking for parent volunteers to support the school's revamped composting and recycling program. If you're available to help in the cafeteria once a week, or even once a month, any help would be appreciated. Please email Craig Reinbold at craigreinbold@gmail.com if you're interested.
Science Fair t-shirts are being printed now! Keep having fun with your projects, and if you'd like some help getting your ideas off the ground or putting on your finishing touches, visit us in the Makerspace next Wednesday, March 11 from 2:20 to 3:20 p.m.
Remember, the Science Fair is coming up, Wednesday, April 8th!

Child Development Screenings
As a reminder, the Wauwatosa School District's annual spring Child Development Screening for any Wauwatosa resident child who is three years of age is coming up on Thursday, March 12 from 9 AM to 3:30 PM, by appointment.
To schedule your appointment, call the Student Services Department at 414-773-1085 Monday-Friday.
The attached flyer has additional information. Please feel free to share this information with any friends or neighbors. This service is open to all Wauwatosa resident families.
