Principal's Message
As I look out at our ice and snow-covered streets I can understand, and personally empathize, with the challenge it can sometimes take to get our kids to school each day. And I am appreciative of the time and efforts that each of you take to get your students here. Attendance is the single most important thing you can do to support your child’s success in school. If a child is not here, they cannot learn, they cannot connect, they cannot develop and grow in the ways that we all want them to!
It may not feel like much at times, but even staying home one day every other week leads to almost a month of lost classes in a year. Every minute in school matters and we want our students to take advantage of every opportunity we can provide for them while they are here!
AND…we don’t want the learning to stop at the end of the school day. As spring approaches there are still tons of chances for students to start a sport, join a club, and get involved outside of schools. Students who are engaged in even one extracurricular activity have better grades, report lower stress levels, feel more connected to peers, and have better attendance!
Thanks for your partnership! As a team, home and school can do amazing things. We are humbled to have the opportunity to work with you and your children!

Language Arts Updates
Sophomores in Mrs. Matheson's English 10 class are beginning to work on a Poetry Challenge. Students have the option to choose their challenge level and will be the primary decision-makers as they work their way beyond understanding the surface level meaning of a text and apply skills and resources to reach a deeper understanding.
Students in English 12 are working on research for our 2023 Senior Convention.
These presentations will cover an array of topics, chosen by each senior. They are using academic research skills, along with applying their skills to design visual enhancements, like infographics and displays. Students will present their work in a "convention" style setting in the Hawk Dome on the morning of March 15th. from 8:45 until about 10:30.
