Google Chrome Extensions
5 to try!
About Google Chrome
Google Chrome is a free, fast, and simple web browser. If you don't have Google Chrome, click here to download for any device. Chromebooks also run on Google Chrome, and instead of programs being stored on the device, they are stored in the cloud. This makes Chromebooks start up quickly and run faster than a traditional laptop.
Chrome Extensions
Chrome extensions are tools that run in the background and work across all websites. Extensions are kind of like potato chips - you can't have just one! Chrome extensions also follow you on whatever device you use to access Chrome. To get an extension:
- Launch Google Chrome
- Click on the Apps symbol in the top left of the screen
- Click on the Web Store
- Choose Extensions and begin searching!
AdBlock
If you only try one Chrome Extension, you need to try AdBlock! It blocks ads on the web & removes all ads & pop ups, including text, images, animated ads, even ads on YouTube!
Click Timer
With Click Timer, you can set a clock to count down one hour or less. There is a full screen option, and it works offline!
Readablility
Readability provides a clean reading experience by removing all ads, unwanted text, and other distractions. You can change the font, margins, and can download a clean copy of the text.
Save to Google Drive
Save web content and images directly to your Google Drive with one click!
Tab Scissors & Tab Glue
These are actually two extensions. Tab Scissors allows you to split a window into two smaller, side-by-side windows. Tab Glue puts them back together!
