Note Taking at Ed-Co
Easy Steps to Research Success
When you're paraphrasing:
- use your own words - Sure you understand a lot of words, but do you use them? Write notes in words you use, and they'll make sense later and help you avoid plagiarism.
- avoid sentences - It's quicker and it'll help you avoid plagiarizing.
Citing your sources:
Every note should cite the source the information came from. When you decide that a source will help you, create a citation in EasyBib. As you take notes from the source, use the source bar in EasyBib to identify which source those notes came from.
Organizing your notes
Groups
Drag notes that are on the same topic into a pile.
Naming the group
A text box will appear at the top of the group. Name your group here. Notice that the group name appears in the table at the right.
