Somalians to Minnesota
By: Jack Bowman
What do they do for jobs?
They start and work for large businesses most of the time.
Push and pulls
There is lots of fighting in Somalia pushing immigrants to other countries.
Ravensteins laws
They are mainly males between the age 20 and 34. They are moving nationally. Lots of women staying at home.
What are the challenges they face?
They have to learn another language. Lots of them must rebound from living in refugee camps. Most Somalians are Sunni Muslims and must find time every day to pray twice a day at school or work. The cold Minnesota can be hard to get used to compared to Africa.
