An Intervention Approach
A Two Day Workshop
This workshop will utilize a variety of teaching methods including lecture, discussion, video modeling, and practicing skills. Participants will learn the foundations for understanding behavior and the context in which it occurs, strategies and investigating problem behaviors as well as an overview of function-based behavioral support linked to FBA results.
Practical Approach to Functional Behavior Assessment & Intervention Development
Participants who attend the training will receive
- The Practical Functional Behavioral Assessment & Behavior Support Plananing Training Manual for School-Based Personnel (materials developed by Loman, Strickland, Horner, Borgmeier, & Rodriguez, 2012). In addition to training content the manual includes:
- FACTS interview form for Staff
- FACTS interview form for Students
- ABC Observation Templates
- Summary of Behavior Table
- Behavior Support Planning Forms
- Sample direct observation templates/forms
- Sample behavior intervention planning documents
- Sample FBA results summaries with recommendations for intervention plans
- Many more resources to use when conducting FBA & Developing BSPs <

- Implementing/Coaching & tips for training others in FBA and BSP
Important Session Information
This training will be videotaped and placed on the internet for training purposes. Participants who attend this training must sign a consent for the Use or Publication of Images, Recordings and/or Work. The consent will be emailed to all registered participants and must be signed and returned prior to the start of the training. This training is being sponsored by the Texas Behavior Support Network.
