Sit Down for Nature
PINE Project Fundraising Event
Please help me raise scholarship funds for PINE Project Muskoka
My name is Laura Gilmour and I am an outdoor educator with the PINE Project. I am pledging to sit alone in nature from dawn to dusk on September 14th. Rain, shine, wolves, bears, no problem! I am committing my time that day to connect with nature in hopes to raise scholarship funds for our youth program here in Muskoka. Through my volunteer work with the PINE Project here in Muskoka and in Toronto I have seen amazing growth in young people and adults through the after-school programs, summer camps, and our yearly Art of Mentoring program.
This year we hope to continue to build on our Muskoka PINE Project programs offering after school programs again this winter, continuing and growing our successful nature based day-camps and overnight camps and looking to start teen wilderness canoe trips.
How you can help...
I am hoping to raise $1500 during this event. Your pledge will be used directly for scholarships to help local families afford programs they would not be able to otherwise. We offer full and part scholarships based on local need. Over the last few years we have given out thousands of dollars in scholarship to Muskoka residents. Often these are the kids that need these programs the most.
Donations of every domination are appreciated. Donations greater than $25 are eligible for a charitable tax receipt. Funds can be donated easily through my online Giving Page
PINE Project
Our mission is to build healthy communities, deeply connected to the natural environment.
To achieve this, we deliver programs focused on building relationships between self, others, and the environment. Using music, drama, storytelling, naturalist studies, stewardship, outdoor adventures, games, play, and intergenerational learning, we weave it all into a “culture of nature connection” empowering our mantra:
Be More, Need Less
