Holiday Parties
The following pertains to holiday parties:
1. No holiday parties are to occur without the approval of your immediate supervisor. Approval will be granted only for those parties which have been requested by teachers in writing specifying the time.
2. The party may only take place on Friday, December 21.
3. If you do plan a party, it is to be during the period of your class.
4. No food is to be ordered from the outside and delivered or picked up by students or others. Food and beverages used for the party are to be brought in before the school day begins and dropped off in the classrooms before the start of first period. All drinks should arrive to class in the original package/bottle with the seal not broken. Homemade baked goods are not permitted. Also, food should also be peanut free.
5. Students must remain in their class area. Students may not take food to any other classrooms or areas. Culinary Arts and the cafeteria cannot store or heat food or provide any supplies.
6. No students from other career areas, classes, schools, parents, or children are to be invited or accommodated. Classes cannot combine and have a joint party.
7. The area of the party must be cleaned up prior to dismissal. All food, drinks, and containers must be properly discarded.
8. Students should be the primary contributors to any holiday party. This can be in the form of a monetary donation or by bringing in food/drinks/supplies. School budget money may not be used to fund a holiday party. A career area’s internal account may be used but only minimally. Teachers who wish to do so must get approval from your immediate supervisor beforehand.
10. A holiday party is a privilege that should be earned by your students. The parties, if they are not monitored properly, have the potential to undo some of the hard work we have been doing. Please take time to organize any party in such a way that you can foresee any potential problems and intervene to prevent them. Please remind the students that if they do not conduct themselves in a positive, mature manner that the "party privilege" can and will be taken away.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Ring Ceremony
On Thursday, December 13th, the Class of 2020 assembled at Marshallton to commemorate their junior year of high school. The Sharp Center was beautifully decorated. The backdrop for the ring ceremony was perfect for this nostalgic milestone.

50 YEAR YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
Terrific Opportunity for SNOW HOURS!!!
Recently, I learned about a FREE online PD opportunity that would qualify for Snow Hours. It is called “Ditch Summit 2018” and is produced by Matt Miller, author of Ditch That Textbook.
The “Summit” consists of new video presentations that will be released daily. Although the Summit started this past Friday, you will have access to the videos until Dec. 31st. After that, the Summit ends and the videos will no longer be available.
After you complete a video presentation, you will have the ability to fill out a form to receive an email with a PD certificate. You can do this for each video you watch, making it easy to document your PD time!!!
For more information and the necessary links to sign up for “Ditch Summit 2018” click on the button below.
As per the NCCVT Snow Hour protocol, please click here to complete the “Snow Hours Request Form” BEFORE participating in the PD.
