Tamanend Together!
September 11, 2020
We Are Tamanend Together
On this day in 2001, we lost nearly 3,000 lives in an attack on the United States. In the days that followed, Americans turned out to help each other in an unprecedented showing of faith, allegiance, and collaboration, on a united front. September 11th is now recognized as a National Day of Service and Remembrance, known as Patriot Day. On this day, Americans across the country are called upon to volunteer in their local communities in tribute to the individuals lost, injured, and affected in the attacks. We invite everyone in our community to take time this morning to remember and honor all of the lives lost on September 11, 2001 and to recognize the efforts of emergency responders. We are Tamanend Together today, and every day.
Office Hours, Advisory & Resource
Office Hours: Office hours will occur on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Students may choose to use office hours to get help from their teachers. Teachers will explain how to access their office hours sessions.
Advisory: Students will log on to their Advisory class only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Attendance will be taken. Students will be in the same Advisory all three years at Tamanend. This allows students and teachers to develop strong, positive relationships.
Resource: Students will log into their Resource class on B Days. 7th Grade Resource is 1st or 2nd Period; 8th Grade Resource is 4th or 5th Period; 9th Grade Resource is 6th or 7th Period. Resource is another time to get extra help from teachers. When students log on to their Resource class, their Resource teacher will take attendance and will inform them if one of their teachers needs to work with them. At that time, students will leave their Resource class's Teams call and will log on to their teacher's "Help" Teams call.
Materials Distribution
We are planning a drive-through materials distribution for your children to receive textbooks and other supplies that they may need from their teachers. This event will take place during the week of September 21st. We will be sharing specific information and pick up times next week.

TAMANEND FEATURES
Tamanend Students Honor Veterans
Tamanend 9th Graders, Julianna Smith and Andela Dozier, completed their Girl Scout Silver Award this summer by building a walkway at Warwick Memorial Park, complete with commemorative bricks honoring military veterans as well as landscaped the area around the existing flagpole to beautify the memorial. The park, which sits off Memorial Drive in Jamison, is the newest addition to Warwick Township’s extensive parks network. In addition to fundraising by selling bricks to honor veterans, they worked with local landscaping company K&K Landscaping to learn how to properly install the bricks and landscape the surrounding area. Julianna and Andela are now helping fellow troop members complete their own Silver Award projects, which will also benefit our community. We are proud of these Tamanend students!
Tamanend Students in Girl Scout Troup 21638 Support Children in Need
Together Morgan Miller (Tamanend student) and Grace Folkins (Lenape student) designed their Girl Scouts Silver Award, “Bears in Blankets”, and donated them to Christ’s home for Children. Grace and her core team created 50 bears while Morgan and her core team created 50 blankets. After all the bears and blankets were made, they came together to wrap them, turning them into the finished product. Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, Grace and Morgan persevere and overcame these challenging times. Their in-person meetings with core team members included wearing masks and social distancing when possible. A special thanks to Grace’s core team: Raniya Robson, Heera Kalidindi, Lucia Casas, Ellie Quinlisk. And Morgan’s core team: Brynn Albert, Andela Dozier, Samantha Thomas, Satty Prabha. We are very proud of these students and their commitment to the community.
