Sodium bicarbonate, or baking soda, is a chemical and also an amphoteric compound. Sodium Bicarbonate reacts with acetic acid, sodium hydroxide, and carboxyl groups in proteins. In terms of health, Sodium Bicarbonate is known as a alternative treatment for cancer. It is also known to relieve heartburn, and acid indigestion.
