Happy Retirement, Mrs. Jones!

Greetings Peabody Parents:


Students last day of school is Wednesday, June 16th! Please make sure your child attends school these last three days to ensure they have completed all i-ready testing. In addition, teachers will use Monday, June 14th as a last opportunity for students to make up missing assignments. Students will have until midnight Monday, June 14th to submit any missing assignments to improve 4th Quarter grades.


We want to make our last week fun for students! Therefore, we will have a “Ready for the Summer” Dress Down Week June 14th -16th.


Monday, June 14th: Jersey Day

Tuesday, June 15th: College Day

Wednesday, June 16th: School Spirit Day


If you would like for your child to keep their devices during the summer, you MUST register. If you have not registered your child, you must return the device in order to defer a fee. Again, students who register their children before school is out, may keep their devices during the summer. Report cards will be held for students who have not returned devices.


If you have not registered, Peabody will assist with registration June 14th and June 15th from 9:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. Please come to the main office to register. Also, please feel free to call the school @ 416-4606 for assistance.


Please return any library books or Social Studies textbooks (grades 4 - 5) this week to prevent report cards being held due to unreturned books. If your child is missing a library/textbook, they will receive a debt letter the week of June 14th. When paying for lost books, please bring the exact amount to the school. The school will not be able to provide change or accept checks. Please make sure books are returned or debt paid to ensure your child receives their final report card.


Join us to celebrate our Kindergarten and Fifth Grade Students’ Promotional Virtual Ceremonies. Your child’s teacher will post the link for parents to join and share with family members on Class Tag.


Kindergarten Grade: Monday, June 14th @ 9:00 A.M. (Students will wear school uniforms)


Fifth Grade: Tuesday, June 15th @ 9:00 A.M. (Students will wear white tops and black/navy bottoms. 5th Grade will come back @ 5:00 P.M. for a Drive-Through Celebration. Cars will line up on Young and Tanglewood and drive through the school’s parking lot. Cars can start lining up by 4:45 P.M. We plan to start promptly at 5:00 P.M.)

Student Device Assistance Information

Starting November 30, you can contact our school directly for immediate support with student device repairs and/or replacement. We are the first point of contact for help with your student’s SCS-issued device.


You can receive help by emailing PeabodyESdevicehelp@scsk12.org or calling the school at 416-4606. We will connect you with our school’s Microsoft Ambassador to help with reporting a device as lost, stolen or damaged, as well as any issues with Microsoft TEAMs or help with resetting a password.


The technology team will schedule you an appointment during the following times:


Monday 9:30-10:10 am

Thursday 12:50-1:30 pm

Friday 10:30-11:30 am


In order to receive a loaner device, the legal parent or guardian must be present. When you visit the school for your scheduled appointment time bring the following:


State issued ID

Device to be repaired

Charger for the device


A loaner device will be issued during your visit. School based repairs can take up to 3 days. If the school is unable to repair the device, a district IT representative will be notified to assist with the repair. Once the repair is completed, you will be called to pick up the device.

Accelerated Reader Link

The Accelerated Reader (AR) website can only be accessed by students Monday through Friday 7:15 am until 6: 15 pm. The AR website is only used to take AR quizzes on books students have read.

Big picture

Every year, the Peabody PTA holds the Cookie Dough Fundraiser! It's always a smashing success and our families typically clear $6,000 that goes directly to technology and the arts at Peabody. This year, though, the PTA has voted not to hold the sale due to COVID. We just can't figure out a safe way to do it.


The PTA has been supporting teachers and staff during this time of virtual learning -- buying stylus pens for K-2 to use with their tablets, microphones for teachers, we outfitted a new teacher/staff lounge for those working inside the school and teacher appreciation gifts!


We ask that if you can, donate to the Peabody PTA. You can just go to FriendsofPeabody.org and donate online! Any amount will be greatly appreciated and help us support our school... even when we can't be there!

Peabody Morning Announcements

Announcements will be every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:05-8:10. Please join if you can. However, Announcements are OPTIONAL.

Weekly Lunch Pick-Up

Do not forget to pick up lunches on Thursdays from 1:00 PM - 5:00 P.M and Fridays from 7:00 A.M.-9 A.M. These are cold lunches that will last the entire week.

Daily Attendance

If your child is absent, parents must email the child's homeroom teacher the reason for any absences within two days. Also, any reason for checking in late to or leaving early from online learning will need to be sent by the parent via email to the homeroom teacher. Students are expected to be in their Virtual Classrooms from 8:15-3:00 P.M. daily.

Peabody Elementary Virtual Norms for Online Classrooms

Parents please help us with the following Virtual Norms to ensure we continue to have a successful year of learning:

  • Students CANNOT eat food while in class virtually.
  • Students MUST be in a designated area for learning that requires them to sit upright. Students cannot lay down at any time. Students cannot be in bed.
  • Student MUST have a quiet area- free of noise, no tv, no music during virtual learning.
  • Students CANNOT have covers or blankets on their body.
  • Students CANNOT wear hoodies or hats on their head.
  • Students MUST have on a shirt with sleeves.
  • Students MUST have shoes on their feet during PE days or if feet will be shown during class.
  • Students MUST remain in the class from 8:15-3:00 each day to receive full credit for the day and a class participation grade.
  • Students MUST show their faces (video on) on the screen.
  • Students MUST stay on mute until the teacher advises them otherwise.
  • Students should wear headphones while learning virtually to block out excess noise in their background.

If your child attends a daycare or community center each day while virtually learning, we are asking parents to communicate the above Virtual Expectations with these centers.
