Panda Paws
Groveland Park Elementary School
November 8, 2021
Last week I was driving home and heard the news that children ages 5-11 can now start to get vaccinated and I got a little teary. We have been waiting nineteen months for this and what a difference it will make for our students. One of the biggest shifts that we will see at Groveland is that vaccinated students will not have to quarantine if they do not have symptoms. This uninterrupted learning will really make a difference to students' academic and social emotional growth. You can vaccination sites here. And if you have questions about the vaccine, reach out to your child's doctor.
A few items for this week:
- This Thursday, November 11, from 4:00-6:00pm we will have a flu shot (not COVID) clinic at Groveland. If you have medical insurance, please bring your insurance card. Our first one was extremely well attended and we wanted to give parents another opportunity. Thank you to the PTO and Nurse Teresa Eide for organizing this event.
- Fall conferences are Tuesday, Nov. 16 (Virtual), Thurs., Nov. 18 (In-person) and Fri., Nov. 19 (Virtual and In-person). We will be using the website: ptcfast.com/schools/GPE On the site you will be asked to check your child or children's teacher(s). Make sure to pay attention as to whether you would like virtual or in-person. You will then get an email where you can see all the available times for each teacher. Please sign up TODAY. Thank you.
- Davanni's night is tomorrow night- Tuesday, November 9! Buy pizza and 20% of the proceeds go to Groveland. The flier is below.
- 3M has generously donated air filters to all of our classrooms. These will be located in each classroom.
