Attention rising juniors and seniors...if you are motivated, a self-starter, and are ready to take on the responsibility of having a job or an internship, please consider applying to Work Based Learning. Work Based Learning is a class that allows you to leave school early (or arrive late) and report to a worksite where you can put into practice what you have learned in your coursework. Upon successful completion of WBL, you receive an elective credit on your transcript. You also will participate in an authentic work experience where you will practice the skills needed to be a valuable member of the workforce. Internships are available in many different industries including healthcare, engineering, graphic design, entrepreneurship, film, marketing, business, and many others. We will work to find the perfect fit for you.
Applications for the 2023-24 school year can be found at www.fcboe.org and are due to my office by February 13, 2023. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions. My name is Melanie Duncan and I am the WBL Coordinator. I can be reached at duncan.melanie@fcboe.org.
