Principal's Update

It has been a very good start to the school year, so far, as the transition from summer has gone well for our students.

It has been great to see so many students and families at our events. This past week I had the pleasure of seeing boys' soccer, freshman football, and varsity football. Our students really represent and show their spirit. I encourage all students to come out and enjoy the great fall weather with our teams.

Saturday September 24th - Homecoming Dance @ 7pm

Thank you for coming to open house this week, it was great to see so many families in the building getting to meet their child's teacher.

Thank you all for your support with our Derby shop at open house. Our special education program appreciates such strong community support.

Congratulations to Coach Dawn Thall, former Strongsville High School varsity girls basketball coach, for earning national recognition as the Varsity Brands School Spirit Coach of the Year. Powerschool Updates

The Powerschool Login portals for students and parents have been updated and the URLs have been changed. The Powerschool sites on the district website have been updated to reflect this change and to provide instructions for parents.

Parents and students will use the following URL

Students will click on the "Student Sign In' link in the bottom right hand corner of the sign in screen and sign in with their SCS Mustangs account credentials.

Parents and guardians will sign in with their username (email address) and their password. The first time a parent signs in, using this new portal, they will need to click on the "Forgot Username or Password" link to reset the password.

Last Friday (8/19) the Strongsville High School Cheerleaders were joined by over 100 youth cheerleaders (1st - 8th grade) for the season opener of the varsity football season. Their participation at the game was a result of attending a cheer camp in July, organized by the SHS Cheerleaders. At the camp, the youth cheerleaders learned cheers, chants, and the “Hey Song” dance, which they were able to perform at last Friday’s football game.

'Here Comes The Bus' is an app for SCS families to track busing information and routes for their student(s), as well as real-time notifications. The app and complementary website - available on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, or personal computer - enables parents to see the location of their child’s school bus on its daily route. Download the ‘Here Comes the Bus’ app to monitor daily transportation information. Families that utilized the app last year will need to delete last year’s student information and add their current year information in order to receive the latest routing details and updates. Click HERE for additional information about the app.

After two years of free meals for all students in our District, we will be transitioning back to free, reduced, and paid statuses for student meals. If you believe your family may qualify for free or reduced price school meals, we encourage you to complete a Free & Reduced-Price Meal Application online, which may be found HERE. The online form must be completed by Friday, September 30, 2022. If your situation should change as a result of lower income or increased family size, you may complete a new form at any time during the school year.

Please note the following immunization requirements from the Ohio Department of Health.

All students entering 12th grade need to receive the following immunizations prior to entering 12th grade:

Two (2) doses of Meningococcal [MCV4] vaccine

Incoming 12th graders will need to show proof of having received these vaccines before they can return to school for the 2022-23 school year (exemptions are provided for under law, call for more information).

Click HERE for the form to confirm immunizations for 12th graders

Section 3313.671 of the Ohio Revised Code states that students who do not provide documentation of this immunization will be excluded from school on the 15th day after entrance, until proof is provided.
