Cordelia Hills Update

Principals Message

So many of you shared your plans/lessons/newsletters for this first week and for distance learning. It gives me so much pride and joy to see the talents, skills, kindness, and care that our staff is displaying during this momentous sliver of history. You are true professionals.

Remember, check out our padlet of appreciation: https://padlet.com/stevetr/xbluhgqnd9gs

Thanks to those that have added already!

Expectations from 3/30-4/9

1. First and foremost, take care of your family and your own personal health! There is no short cutting that.

2. Fill out the Distance Learning Schedule. All but a few have done so.

2. Please refer to the Staff Meeting Presentation for basic expectations for the first nine days of distance learning. The presentation can be found here: CHE Staff Update, 3/26. It includes links to common questions and to our Distance Learning Issue Report Form. I have received 14 forms so far and will spend today working on those issues. If you have a student you reported on that has since had their issue resolved, please circle back with me.

3. Attend Staff Meeting on Tuesday, April 7th. I will send a link for the meeting later.

Expectations for Spring Break

While there were limited formal expectations leading up to Distance learning, the truth is that many of you never stopped working. With that in mind, my expectation is that you take the Spring Break to disconnect. Turn off your email and let your parents know that you will not be sending work, engaging in Meet Ups, and will be generally unavailable during Spring Break. .

SEL, Mindfulness, Inner Explorer At Home

As mentioned during our Meet Up last week, I think an area to target this week is to regularly check in and connect with our students. I have reached out to Mr. Matthew. Additionally, as mentioned last week, Inner Explorer sent the following link to invite parents and staff to use Inner Explorer's app which will allow everyone access to all four programs. The link was sent Friday and over 60% of those that got the email opened it already. I want to encourage you to add the link to your google classrooms so kids have have some mindfulness during this time. Please also encourage your family and your students to participate in stretching, YOGA, or any type of exercise throughout the day.

Library Services--Did you know!

Please read the email from Elaine James with the endless number of links and resources. Please share that information with your families. If anything, we just hope our kids are reading each day!

These are the links from the email but I recommend you read her message:
