Woodside Wolves Weekly
for the Families of Woodside Elementary - September 25, 2022
We had another productive week at Woodside! Our kiddos are working hard and Wolfpack is coming together well.
A huge THANK YOU goes out to Erin Hagerty for organizing the Woodside Rummage Sale and thank you so much for all the donations and all the parent volunteers that stepped up to help with the event! The event raised over $400 for 5th-Grade Outdoor Ed....that covers the cost of one camper and then some!... Well done Erin!!
Our office highlight of the week by far, was when Miss Meneghetti's class came in to sing happy birthday to Miss Maria (photo below).
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read through this newsletter in its entirety, as it contains important information and reminders.
As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely Yours,
Christopher Chenault
Principal

- Due to limited staff parking, thank you for not parking in the school's parking lot between the hours of 7:30 to 3 pm. Thank you very much for your cooperation with this!
- Pull as far forward as possible along the curb, avoid parking in the bus area, and please do not stop in the middle of the driveway to load/unload your student
- Thank you for yielding to our students and families that use the crosswalks in and around the Woodside campus. If traffic gets back up, we will do our best to have staff present to hold pedestrians to clear traffic.

September is Attendance, Suicide Prevention and Deaf awareness month
MDUSD is committed to reducing chronic absenteeism to give all children an equitable opportunity to learn, grow and thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. Staff regularly monitors attendance to prevent chronic absenteeism and identify students who may be struggling with attendance and academic achievement.
MDUSD encourages District and community members to know the signs of suicide, find the words to check in with someone you may be concerned about, and reach out for resources at www.suicideispreventable.org for more information.
In addition to proclaiming September as Deaf Awareness Month, MDUSD's Governing Board has also proclaimed the week of September 19-25 International Week of Deaf People and September 23rd as International Day of Sign Languages. "The purpose of Deaf Awareness Month is to increase public awareness of the issues and culture of people who are deaf, as well as to promote equal access to information and services for deaf individuals, to educate the public about the misconceptions of being deaf, and to learn about the types of educational programs, support services, and resources available to people who are deaf, deafblind, or hard of hearing," MDUSD's resolution states.
