Digital Learning Platform - Authentic Tasks and Products
"Instead of teaching kids to passively absorb and regurgitate knowledge, the aim is to learn by doing - by grappling with real world, instead of textbook, problems. It's an approach we hope will produce global citizens, able to thrive in and contribute to today's complex world." - Erin Millar, New Pedagogies for Deep Learning

Tonight's Twitter Chat: Authentic Student Tasks...Let's Dig Deeper
Twitter Chat: where a group of people decide to virtually meet up on Twitter at a designated time period to discuss a given topic.
During last week's BISD Digital Learning Twitter Chat we discussed the importance of students being creators and producers. Tonight we will dig a little deeper into this idea. Our questions for tonight will focus on the design of student work:
1. What are the characteristics of well-designed student work?
2. As the instructional designer, what steps do you take to plan for this type of work for students?
3. What are some examples of student products that have these characteristics?
Our chat is from 8:00 - 8:30 pm.
