Digital Learning Spotlight - Professional Learning

What an awesome Saturday morning of learning! 130 BISD teachers and administrators with the Mindset of Learners met together at Birdville HS to collaborate and learn. Thank you to all of the amazing educators who attended the Spring 2015 Digital Learning Conference.

Thank you to the BISD teachers, librarians, and Central Office personnel who volunteered to assist the Digital Learning team by leading sessions and sharing their expertise with colleagues: Kristel Hester, Lori Scott, Debbie Darter, Spencer Marshall, Michelle DoPorto, Julie Pursley, Beth Murheid, Tosh McGaughy, Carla Dalton, Ross Nelson and Angi Magana.

Didn't get to attend? That's OK. View the session resources here

Tonight's Twitter Chat: Authentic Student Tasks...Let's Dig Deeper

Twitter Chat: where a group of people decide to virtually meet up on Twitter at a designated time period to discuss a given topic.

During last week's BISD Digital Learning Twitter Chat we discussed the importance of students being creators and producers. Tonight we will dig a little deeper into this idea. Our questions for tonight will focus on the design of student work:

1. What are the characteristics of well-designed student work?

2. As the instructional designer, what steps do you take to plan for this type of work for students?

3. What are some examples of student products that have these characteristics?

Our chat is from 8:00 - 8:30 pm.
