Cheer on Zephyrs Athletics!
It is playoffs time for spring sports. Here is an update for Zephyrs sports.
- Baseball: No. 2 seed. Hosts Menominee Indian Thursday, June 10 at 4:30 p.m. in the regional quarterfinal.
- Golf: Placed 6th at sectionals Monday. Spencer Lynch shot a 82, which led the Zephyrs and tied for the last state individual qualifier spot. Lynch lost in the sudden death playoff. Congratulations to the SMCHS Golf Team on a great season!
- Girls Soccer: No. 1 seed. Hosts Roncalli or Sevastopol/Gibralter Saturday, June 12 at 4 p.m. in the regional final.
- Softball: No. 8 seed. Hosts Sheboygan Lutheran tonight at 4:30 p.m. in the regional quarterfinal.
- Boys Tennis: The team took 2nd place with 18 points in the sub-sectional. Congratulations to Gavin Bergstrom (#1 Singles), Grant Bergstrom (#2 Singles), Ethan Campbell/Charlie Staner (#1 Doubles) and Michael Fairweather/Sam Todd (#3 Doubles) in advancing to Sectionals.
- Track and Field: Hosts the WIAA Regional on Monday, June 14 at 3:30 p.m. The Sectional meet will take place at Rosholt High School on Thursday, June 17.
Two SMCS VEX IQ teams recognized at World Championships
SMC Middle School Teams 1050A, 1050B, 1050C and 1050F all qualified to compete in the VEX IQ Robotics Worlds competition May 27-29 remotely with teams from around the world.
We congratulate all the teams for their hard work! Team 1050F finished 2nd in the finals for their division. 1050A and 1050C both won the Inspire Award for their divisions. There were 53 teams in 1050C's division and 51 teams in 1050A's division. The Inspire Award is presented to a team that has inspired judges with their approach to the VEX IQ program.
