Board Business
Tripile I Conference:
- Coming up in November
- BOE discussed if they should attend.
- President Desecki shared that it is beneficial for the Board to attend, provided it is not cancelled; it is informative and they have learned many good things.
- Dr. Boryszewski will send up a follow up e-mail with commitment on attendance.
- The Board and the conference attendees follow CDC guidelines and wear masks.
Old Business
Washington School:
- The school does much to enhance the street.
- Traffic has been an issue, but is getting better.
- Windows installed with soundproofing
- In a pre-meeting to the construction meeting, it was shared that the contractor is thinking about turning the entire school over in February.
- Dr. Boryszewski commented that it is exciting to learn that we might get access to the whole school by February 19th.
- Project hasn't been delayed, since we have not faced stalls due to COVID-19. The District was fortunate to have passed the referendum in March of 2020 and planned virtually without delay.
- Director of Communications and Grants, Kathy Brant, presented an overview of the grant programs procured by District 81. Federal Title Grants, IDEA, and a synopsis of the ESSER grant funding plan were presented.
