2 Solid Character Traits
Our character being Atticus, I think that the character trait that describes him the best is bravery. In the book, To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus takes on the the case of Tom Robinson. While the whole town is against Tom because he is a different color, Atticus stands strong representing Tom. He stands up for others even when the majority of the town doesn't agree with him and who he is representing. "...Atticus was leaving the post office when Mr.Ewell approached him, cursed him, spat on him, and threatened to kill him." (Lee 248). This shows how even when Atticus was being assaulted for defending the colored man, but he stuck to the case all the way until the case didn't stick to him. The second trait I would use to describe Atticus is that he is caring. He is always looking out for other people and making sure that they feel okay. He cares for Scout and Jem as his children by always making sure they have what they need to be happy. He cares about Tom Robinson and the case to make sure that it is fair and that Tom is treated as a normal person. "Atticus assured us that nothing would happen to Tom Robinson until the higher court reviewed his case, and that Tom had a good chance of going free, or at least of having a new trial." (Lee 250). In this case Atticus knew that the case was important to Jem and Scout so to comfort them he told them that everything was going to be okay even though it was impossible to 100% assure that.

A Color That Represents Atticus
The color that I think represents Atticus is blue. Blue symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, brave, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven. Wisdom and intelligent are two words that describe Atticus best. "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view until you climb into his skin and walk around in it" (Lee 33).
A Symbol That Represents Atticus
This represents Atticus because a lion is a courageous animal. Atticus has courage in the sense that he took on the case of Tom Robinson. The majority of the town was against Tom because of his color, but that didn't stop Atticus from standing up for what he thought was right. Standing up for what you believe in takes courage and not only does he display this characteristic, but he teaches his kids this as well. "Atticus was leaving the post office when Mr.Ewell approached him, cursed him, spat on him, and threatened to kill him." (Lee 248). The fact that Atticus kept going after this experience showed a great amount of courage.
