A Note From the Principal

Dear Parents,

It is with a full heart that I say goodbye to our amazing Bobcat community. It has been an honor to serve BCE for the past two years. BCE will always have a special place in my heart. I am so thankful for the relationships I have built and the memories I will always carry with me.

I am blessed to have been offered a principal job at New Caney Elementary in New Caney ISD. Things continue to fall in to place, and I am very grateful! The experiences I have had at BCE will help me transition into my new adventure.

Without a doubt, Ms. Kellner will do an amazing job taking the reins. She is caring, enthusiastic and extremely passionate about making sure BCE is the best school it can be!! The opportunity to work with her over the past year, leaves me with gratitude and excitement about the amazing things she will bring to BCE.

I am so thankful for your support and kind words. This is an amazing community, and I am blessed to have been a part of it. Once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Andjelic

A Note From the Nurse

Hello Wonderful Bobcat Families,

We have had such a wonderful year here at BCE, I truly love my job and your children. I have just a few requests to help wrap up the end of the year.

If your child has had anything occur over the last school year (concussion, surgery, new allergy, new medication added/removed) that you would like to have added to the medical record, if we have not already been in contact, please send me an email with your student’s name and the information you wish to change and I will update it so we are current to start the 2019-2020 school year.

If you have medication in the health office, please pick it up on or before noon Thursday, May 30th. Per Texas Law medications may not be stored at the school over the summer. All medications left after noon on May 30th will be destroyed. *Please note inhalers and epi-pens should stay until the last day of school.

If your child has asthma, seizures, or a life threatening allergy, please use the summer to review your child’s action plan with their doctor and have an updated copy for the health office when the new school year starts. Please check expiration dates on all medication and refill expired prescriptions so you are not rushing around when school starts back. Summer is also a good time to assure immunizations and affidavits are up to date.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Best Regards,

April Hicks, RN

Please complete the survey by May 30th. The survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete on any device with internet access. Thank you for taking the time. We value your feedback!

2018-19 Year in Review

The end of the year always comes faster than you can blink! As a PTO, just a few of the highlights of this fun year included:

  • witnessing our students complete over 3000 acts of kindness in the first year of Raise Craze

  • funding the new Makerspace at BCE

  • hosting the Josh Abbott Band

  • bringing Google Expeditions to our school

  • partying like it’s 1999 at A Night in Old Bee Cave

  • launching our brand new website

  • and raising a net amount over $120,000 to continue to enrich the education of BCE students

PLUS, continuing to offer enrichment programs, host community events, appreciate teachers, and fund tens of thousands of dollars of recurring annual expenses to support BCE students!

On behalf of the 2018-19 PTO Board, THANK YOU to all parents for supporting our school with your time and resources. We truly have the best community here at Bee Cave Elementary!

Volunteer Opportunities for Next Year

Volunteering at BCE is the best way to get involved, meet new people, and directly impact your child's school experience. Check out all of our volunteer opportunities for next year (2019-20) and sign up for the areas that interest you. Thanks in advance for your support of BCE! It’s going to be another amazing year!

Thank You, Marquee Committee

Do you ever wonder who, RAIN OR SHINE, puts your child's name up on the Birthday Marquee? These women do! Let's give a big thanks to chairwoman Jennifer Johnson and her committee: Stacie O’Grady, Jenny Saville, Heather Madden, and Patricia Rosso. Thanks for helping us raise funds for BCE and celebrate our students' birthdays!

PTO Purchase Spotlight: Drums Alive!

Drums Alive is a new program requested by our wonderful Specials teachers which combines the benefits of a traditional physical fitness program with the benefits of music and rhythm. It fosters a healthy balance physically, mentally, emotionally and socially! It includes scarves, boomwhackers, egg shakers, stability balls, drum bucket bases, and drumsticks.

This will be a fun way to add rhythm and dance into our curriculum along with a way for PE and Music to work on a unit together incorporating drumming and dancing! Enjoy, Bobcats!
