Open Session
The Boerne ISD Board of Trustees held their regular monthly meeting in the BISD Board Room. Pursuant to the Governor's declaration due to COVID-19 emergency, this meeting was held with limited occupancy and observed all prescribed safety measures.
Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence
Boerne ISD JROTC students presented the colors and led the pledge of allegiance.
Board Commendations
The Board commended Boerne ISD students and staff, as well as celebrated district-wide honors.
CHS National Merit Commended Scholars
The Chargers Commended Scholars are Connor Berberek, Noah Hendricks, and Noah Champagne.
Students earn the recognition of National Merit Commended Scholars based on their PSAT scores.
National Merit Commended Scholars have PSAT scores higher than 96% of students in the nation.
BHS National Merit Commended Scholars
Congratulations to the Boerne and Champion Commended Scholars!
Tanya Tate- HES Principal
Mrs. Tate has been selected as the 2020-21 Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) Region 20 President.
As TEPSA's Region 20 President, Tate works with the Board of Directors on behalf of the Region.
ENERGY STAR Certification
10 BISD campuses were awarded the ENERGY STAR certification for 2020:
Boerne and Champion High Schools, Boerne Middle School North and South, as well as elementary schools Kendall, Cibolo Creek, Curington, Fabra, Fair Oaks Ranch, and Van Raub.
Boerne ISD Nurses
Dr. Price and Dr. Howard thanked the Boerne ISD Nurses for their outstanding work.

Best Small School District, Top Workplace Celebrated
Dr. Price and Board President Maritza Gonzalez-Cooper displayed the Tiffany's Trophy that Boerne ISD received in the mail this week as The Best Small School District in Texas, as well as the plaque for being recognized as a Top Workplace by the San Antonio Express-News.
The trophy and the plaque will be displayed in Central Office.
Boerne ISD Names New Chief Financial Officer
Boerne ISD announced that Wesley Scott has been named Chief Financial Officer. Scott’s appointment was approved by the Board of Trustees at the Regular Monthly meeting on October 20th. Scott will take over for current CFO Tish Grill who will retire in December.

Boerne ISD Saves $36 Million by Refinancing Bonds
The Board approved authorization for BISD to refinance any or all of the district’s outstanding bonds. BISD will move forward and refinance three bonds, from 2013, 2014, and 2015, which will save district taxpayers an estimated $36 million over the next 22 years.
SHAC Membership Approved
The SHAC assists the district in ensuring that local community values are reflected in the district’s health education instruction.

Legislative Priorities Approved for Upcoming Session
Boerne ISD's priorities this year focus on protecting the progress made by HB 3, while working within the financial constraints that the state and it’s ISD’s face due to the COVID19 pandemic.

Superintendent's Report
-Boerne ISD's attendance rate is exceptional this year. The district-wide attendance goal is 96%, BISD is currently above that goal at all Elementary and secondary schools.
