RESULTS DAY SPECIAL
St James' Catholic High School
MESSAGE FROM OUR NEW HEADTEACHER
As I'm sure you are aware, last Thursday 18th and this Thursday 25th saw our students receive their post-16 and GCSE results.
The phenomenal results our community have accomplished are thanks to the aspirational and professional attitudes of our students; the dedication and expertise of our staff; and the unwavering support of parents, governors and partners.
We are incredibly proud of our young people for their efforts and achievements. I am sure you have seen much of this news on our social channels, however please allow me to share further photos and content with you here in this special 'Results' edition of our monthly newsletter.
I hope you enjoy the remainder of the Summer holidays and are looking forward to the start of the new academic year in September.
Mr Ellul
Post-16 Vocational and A-Level Results Day, 18th August 2022
We have continued to go from strength to strength, with students achieving outstanding A Level and Vocational results. This has been made possible through the focus and determination of the students, and the expertise and support from staff throughout the two years of study.
Mr Ellul, Acting Headteacher, said “These results are not only testament to the hard work of the students, but they now equip our students with the qualifications and skills they need for a prosperous future. I couldn’t be any prouder of each and every one of them and I am most grateful to staff and parents for their support.”
These remarkable results have ensured that the impressive number of students progressing to Russell Group universities continues. This includes Robel Hailemichael attending Queen Mary University of London to study Chemical Engineering, Jasmine Waters going to the University of Edinburgh to study Fine Art, and Addison Pjetri heading to the University of Manchester to study Accountancy and Finance. Other destinations include The University of Leeds, Nottingham Trent, The University of Leicester and The University of Southampton.
Head of Sixth Form, Mr Aldridge, said “It’s been an absolute delight and honour to see our Sixth Form students succeed not only academically, but also develop into respectable young adults, ready and keen to excel in the working world that lies outside of St James’. We wish them the best of luck with their future endeavours and hope that they pursue something that they have great passion for. We also hope that they stay in touch with us to let us know how they’re getting on, as it would be a shame not to continue to celebrate their successes - we are their biggest fans after all!”

GCSE Results Day, 25th August 2022
Our Year 11 students reaped the stellar rewards of their efforts as the school secured a fantastic set of GCSE results. Our ‘VERITAS’ values have most certainly manifested themselves through the determination and aptitude of the students!
Mr Ellul, Acting Headteacher, said “We are thrilled with this year’s results. Our students take pride in their work and in their school, and the educational outcomes we have secured for them is not only testament to their hard work, but also the expertise and dedication of our outstanding staff.”
Mr Ellul continued to say, “I am eternally grateful for the community we have built within the school and the wider area. This includes: parents, who have continued to put their trust in us to deliver consistently high quality teaching and pastoral care; staff, who have worked tirelessly to ensure students receive the support they need; and our governors, who have put their faith in our school from the very beginning."
A highlight of the morning was with Jasmine, who received 8 and 9 grades across the entirety of her subjects. She said “I’d like to thank all of my teachers for supporting me and encouraging me throughout my time at St James’. I worked so hard for these results and it’s definitely paid off!”
Head of Year 11, Mr Tomene, said “We hope to see many of our Year 11s return to our Sixth Form and pursue something that they have great passion for. Regardless, whichever path you take after your GCSEs, St James’ will always be here as a helping hand and a stepping stone to your favoured endeavours.”
