OP Matiru Workout of the Day Description
OP MATIRU is a "Hero WOD" in honor of MCpl Charles Matiru, a dedicated soldier that completed multiple tours of duty (CFV, 2013). Matiru never experienced physical injury from combat, however struggled without knowledge of others with PTSD. Matiru committed suicide on January 15, 2013 after struggling silently from symptoms of PTSD. He left behind his expecting wife. Matiru believed to suffer from PTSD after losing friend Andy Nutts in combat.
