Summer Scholars

Pre-registration for PPS Summer Scholars is currently happening with priority being given to students needing credit recovery. Summer classes this year will be FREE but still follow the home-distance learning model that we are doing now.

Two sessions will be offered & students can take 1 semester class per session.

Session 1: Mon-Thurs June 22-July 9

Session 2: Mon-Thurs July 13-July 30

Class session times are either AM (9am-12pm) or PM (5pm-8pm) depending on the class offerings.

Students should email their counselor to get pre-registered ASAP. Classes are filling quickly.

Welcoming Incoming Freshman

Incoming Freshmen (current 8th graders) are invited to join counselors & freshmen teachers virtually this week. We know there a lot of nerves around starting high school, particularly given how this Spring has gone.

Senior Diploma Pick Up & Celebration June 10

Last Names A-L 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Last Names M-Z 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

You will arrive at the front of Madison at Marshall Campus via car or walking up. There will be a place for you to stand and receive your diploma and have your photo taken in your cap & gown! All graduates will receive a complimentary 5 x 7 photo.

Social distancing will be practiced and only one car per family is allowed. Walk up is available for families without a car.

PPS Virtual Senior Prom

Thursday June 4 from 7-9 pm

PPS Virtual Prom 2020, a live 2-hour prom experience featuring DJ O.G. One, the official DJ of the Portland Trail Blazers. The party starts at 7 pm and will livestream on our YouTube channel. Hear from special celebrity guests, participate in social media challenges, Instagram giveaways, dance the night away, and more! Follow us on Instagram at @PPSImages to catch exclusive content and tag us in your prom photos to be shared on our story. We can’t wait to see your photos from #PPSProm2020!

Junior Guidance

This past week Juniors were offered access to our typical May guidance lesson through their English classes. (Students can also find this lesson on the Class of 2021 Counseling Google classroom.)

Information was shared to help students learn what action steps they should take heading into summer to realize their post-high school plans. Resources, timelines & check lists were shared around college, trade/apprenticeship and military options.

Summer Health Clinic Resources

The Student Health Center @ Parkrose High School is open all summer (June 18 - Aug. 21). They serve youth ages 5-18 who reside in or attend school in Multnomah County. They provide services for both medical and mental health needs.


No walk-ins accepted. Call for appointment; same day appointments available.

Oregon Private College Week

Oregon Private College Week will be held virtually from July 27 - July 31. The following Oregon colleges will be participating:

Corban University

George Fox University

Lewis & Clark College

Linfield College

Northwest Christian University

Pacific University

Reed College

University of Portland

Warner Pacific University

Willamette University

Each school will host three, 80-minute virtual visits during the week that students can sign up for. Each college will offer info about admissions, financial aid & academic programs.
