About Graduation
Greater Tacoma Convention Center 1500 Commerce Street Tacoma, WA 98402
All Seniors graduating during the 2019/2020 school year (including Graduation Alliance) are invited to attend and be a part of our graduation event. The entire student body, along with faculty, friends and family are invited to join us. There is no fee to attend and graduates are not required to attend.

Before Graduation
Graduation Attire
Graduates are encouraged to wear the official cap and gown for the 2020 Commencement Ceremony. All graduates, regardless of whether they are wearing Insight School of Washington caps and gowns, are expected to dress appropriately for the event. Our colors are royal blue and white. Gowns are blue, tassels are blue and white.

Day of Graduation
In consideration to our hosts and fellow guests...
The Greater Tacoma Convention Center does not allow balloons of any sort in their facility. Please consider flowers if you want to bring your graduate something to recognize their great accomplishments.
Please no air horns. Individuals using air horns will be asked to leave the Commencement Ceremony.
Timeline for June 20, 2020
10:00 am – 10:45am
Check in for graduates only. Only graduates will be allowed inside the facility. If you need to accompany your student for any reason, please email Colby Hepner (chepner@k12insightwa.org prior to graduation for a pass)
Check in and receive Commencement Envelope – lines according to last name. All graduates planning to walk must arrive no later than 10:00 am.

11:00 am – 12:00 pm Commencement Ceremony Rehearsal
Graduates gather in the gym for professional group photo
11:45 am ADA seating
12:00 noon General Seating
Doors open to all guests
12:15 pm – 12:45 pm Graduates line up
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm Commencement Ceremony
3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Recessional

Code of Conduct
Appropriate behavior is expected before, during, and after the 2020 Commencement Ceremony. Those who do not adhere to our code of conduct will be asked to leave the event. No air horns, noise making machines or balloons are permitted.
Address Cards
Students will be asked to fill out an address card which will be provided at check-in, inside the Commencement Envelope. In order to ensure proper delivery of diplomas, graduates are responsible for neatly printing their name and full address on the address cards. Your address card will be in your Grad Envelope, which you will pick up when you arrive on June 20th.
Seating
Seating at the Commencement Ceremony is on a first come, first serve basis. ADA accessible seating is available. General seating begins at noon.
We do not offer reserved general seating for guests attending the Commencement Ceremony. The RSVP link is to provide us a general number of expected guests, and to allow us to offer adequate ADA seating.

Refer to your High School and Beyond Plan and contact your Academic Counselor if you are wondering if you graduate this year. You can reach your counselor by email or by phone at 425-533-2700 followed by their extension.

Transcripts
Transcripts are not automatically sent. To request a transcript, please email Registrar@k12insightwa.org with the subject line “Transcript Request”. Include the first and last name of the student, date of birth, and specific information detailing how (fax, email, or mail) and where (address, email, or fax number) you would like the transcript sent.
Not Attending?
Whether or not you attend the 2020 Commencement Ceremony, your diploma will be mailed to the current home address on file in August 2020. To update your address, please email Registrar@k12insightwa.org, including your name, birth date, and updated information.
