Notes from the Principal
It is hard to believe that December is already here!!! What a whirlwind Fall we have had at Boone so far. The classrooms have been bustling with activity and learning, the halls filled with excited children and wonderful artwork from our art team, and the stage has been full of fabulous music from children’s voices. With the month kicking off the hotly contested competition for the coveted Holiday Door Decoration Glue Gun Award, it’s beginning to look a lot like…December at Boone.
Along with the many events planned for this month, we have the Book Fair going on this week and our fabulous Literacy Night tonight!!! This year’s event is going to be better than ever with a new format and new activities!!! A huge thanks to all of the staff for their efforts and hard work to make our annual Literacy Night such a fun family time. You guys are amazing!!! Our fifth graders will be kicking off the evening’s events with their performance of “A Pirates’ Christmas.” The musical will begin at 5:00 pm with Literacy Night/Book Fair Night starting immediately after the program ends.
Next week, our fabulous Honor Choir will be performing for our parents on Thursday, December 12th and for the students the next morning. That same Friday, (Dec. 13th), our annual Third Grade Boone Bear Market gets underway in the C-Pod closing out yet another fun-filled week.
After that, our traditional classroom Holiday Celebrations on Wednesday, the 18th, and our annual STEM Day the next day (Dec. 19th), will close out the Fall Semester and 2019 at Boone ES. With so many things going on, please keep your eye on our calendar, so you don’t miss out on a single exciting event.
Also, on December 13th there is a fundraiser supporting the PEAS organization. Please see the flyer below for more details. PEAS is the outdoor education program that comes to Boone and provides on-site lessons for all of our students.
Thanks to all of our fabulous teachers, staff, and parents for all you do here at Boone to make our school such a positive, wonderful place of learning for our children. At Boone children definitely come first and your actions show it every day!!! Thank you so much.
We Need Your Help!
Crawford's Connections
Hello December!
I want to thank everyone who was able to come to our Thanksgiving feast before the fall break! We had a huge turnout, and a BIG thank you goes out to our cafeteria staff and lunch monitors for making this event a great success. We love to see our school community come together for such a wonderful occasion.
The library is abuzz with happiness because the library has been turned into an Arctic celebration of BOOKS, BOOKS, and more BOOKS! I have seen many new books in hand and smiles across many students' faces this week. Thursday, we will be having Literacy Night and the book fair will be open during the evening. Literacy Night is going to be an evening filled with lots of fun centered around literacy, and I hope everyone is able to join us. There will be free books and a sweet treat for students to take home with them! Can't wait to see everyone!
Remember my door is always open!

Upcoming Personal Safety Lessons with School Counselor
Dear Parents,
Protecting our children and empowering students to keep themselves safe is very important to the members of our learning community. Even at this young age, children must understand the meaning of privacy and what they should do when their privacy is not being respected.
PreK-5th grade will be learning about privacy and identifying the parts of the body that are private. Bathing suit cutouts for boys and girls will be used to indicate the areas under the bathing suit as private. Anatomical terminology will not be used.
Please see the attachments in the body of the email for more information.
