Context Clues
Context clues are hints that an author gives to help define a difficult or unusual word, also using Context Clues can help you during reading.
Simple Sentences
A simple sentence, also called an independent clause, contains a subject and a verb, and it expresses a complete thought. So its the basic element in the sentence, nickname for independent clause. Examples: 1. Sarah walked her dog today. "Sarah"= subject &"walked"- verb 2. Josh spilled my cookies all over the floor. "Josh"= subject & "spilled"- verb 3. Peter like to dance. "Peter"- subject & "dance"- verb
