Great Moments in Hot Bev History
While HUNNY gets top billing, don't sleep on tea when it comes to Winnie the Pooh. In fact, all of the residents of the Hundred Acre Wood fancy a spot from time to time.
Even our very own mascot, OWL is a huge fan.
Grab yourself a spot tea (or coffee or cocoa) tomorrow starting at 9AM. Bring your own mug to help save the Earth!

We are recruiting 1000 Philadelphians from across the city to engage one another in an hour-long conversation as the beginning of an empathetic movement to listen to someone they would have otherwise never met.

Get Ready, Get Set, Get Out: A Day in the Life of a Returning Citizen Reentry Simulation
Friday, October 4th, 1-4 PM
Alter Hall 7th Floor
This event is designed to bring awareness to the obstacles faced by people re-entering society after incarceration, and the event is co-sponsored by the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, JEVS Human Services, and the Fox School of Business Human Resource Management and Legal Studies Departments.
National and state attention is turning toward the need for improved care and service coordination for people leaving correctional facilities, as collateral consequences for criminal convictions pose significant barriers to reentry post-sentence in employment, education, housing, and healthcare. The Reentry Simulation is a participatory event that seeks to raise awareness about the process of reentering the community from a correctional institution, and to educate participants about the barriers and challenges associated with reentry. The event's hands-on activities will put participants into the role of reentering citizens where each participant assumes the identity of a formerly incarcerated person and performs tasks in four, 15-minute sessions – with each session representing a week in the life of the reentering citizen. Participants attempt to complete their court-ordered obligations and maintain their day-to-day lives while attempting to avoid the possibility of re-incarceration, and they may need to balance decisions regarding accessing social services, entering into the workforce, obtaining identification, and finding housing while simultaneously complying with supervision and managing limited resources After these sessions, the participants will complete a de-briefing session as part of the event, where they can discuss their experiences and insights. To walk in the shoes of one who is returning home gives us invaluable insight to the obstacles these individuals face.
